Book and lyrics by Tom Jones Music by Harvey Schmidt Directed by Elizabeth Herbert

“Try To Remember” a time when this romantic charmer wasn’t enchanting audiences around the world. This slight, simple confection of music and whimsy is in fact the longest-running play of any kind in American history.

This allegorical tale of life and love is infused with a bit of Shakespeare (a boy and a girl, a wall and disapproving parents). Based on “Les Romanesques” by the author of “Cyrano de Bergerac,” at its heart is breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication. The Fantasticks has a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers and the result is a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time.”

This funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart asks the audience to use their imagination and follow them into a world of moonlight and magic. The boy and the girl fall in love, grow apart and finally find their way back to each other after realizing the truth in El Gallo’s words that, “without a hurt, the heart is hollow.”

October 6 - 21, 2017 Friday and Saturday @ 7:30 / Sunday @ 2:00 Piano Bar opens one hour before each performance
