The Book of Sirens - WRF

A performance of Art Shelter/ProEnglish Theatre from Kyiv, Ukraine. The Book of Sirens was created in ProEnglish Theatre, the theatre that transformed into a bomb shelter in March 2022 in Kyiv. It became an international symbol of cultural resistance. It promotes culture as a main weapon in the fight for basic human values.

The story is partly based on The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and Forgotten we Shall Be by Héctor Abad Faciolince. The show also aims to memorialize the experience of the theatre team’s life in bomb shelter in March and share it with the world in order to create a better understanding of each other.

A portion of proceeds from this show will be sent to ProEnglish Theatre in Kyiv, Ukraine.
