Gifted with diverse musical talents and a bottomless pool of creativity, twenty-two-year-old Quinn Bachand is one of Canada's most outstanding young musicians. A gifted multi-instrumentalist and natural composer, he is at ease drawing from both his jazz vocabulary and the traditional music he grew up with. With a tight grasp on the music that embraces the swing tradition, Quinn Bachand and his talented band, Brishen, take audiences on an inventive quest which, through its technical virtuosity, brings together a spellbinding range of musical history to reinvent the categories of gypsy jazz, swing jazz, pop and country, celebrating the music of the ‘30s, up to and including the ‘60s. Quinn Bachand’s Brishen creates a space where virtuosity meets vibe, leaving you with a sense of jubilance and nostalgia.
Quinn’s multiple nominations and awards include eight Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, our Western Canadian Music Award nominations and the 2018 Independent Music Award for Best Jazz Song with Vocals. Quinn was also the recipient of the Saga/DjangoFest Award. He is currently finishing up his fourth year as the Slaight Scholar (full ride scholarship) at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
