To highlight the forthcoming exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum - VICTORIAN RADICALS:
The Pre-Raphaelites — March 30 William Morris — April 17 The Arts and Crafts movement — May 15
The Arts and Crafts Movement was born out reaction to the Victorian era of soulless machine-made production established during the Industrial Revolution. The movement was based on simple forms, truth to materials and a connection forged between artists and their work through handcraft.
Rebecca Albiani has been an arts lecturer at the Frye Art Museum and in the Puget Sound area for the last two decades. She was Fulbright Scholar in Venice and graduated with honors in Art History from Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley. Her sell-out talks are as dynamic as they are informative. Audiences love her witty repartee and her ability to make art history come alive.
