The Pre-Raphaelites — March 30 William Morris — April 17 The Arts and Crafts movement — May 15
William Morris, born near London in 1834, was a multi-faceted artist. A designer and manufacturer of furniture, tapestries, stained glass, wallpaper, an author and a social activist, Morris developed close friendships with the Pre-Raphaelite artists Edward Burne-Jones and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Like his friends, he spent a lifetime fighting the consensus of the Victorian England artistic sensibilities.
Rebecca Albiani has been an arts lecturer at the Frye Art Museum and in the Puget Sound area for the last two decades. She was Fulbright Scholar in Venice and graduated with honors in Art History from Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley. Her sell-out talks are as dynamic as they are informative. Audiences love her witty repartee and her ability to make art history come alive.
