William Morris, born near London in 1834, was a multi-faceted artist. A designer and manufacturer of furniture, tapestries, stained glass, wallpaper, an author and a social activist, Morris developed close friendships with the Pre-Raphaelite artists Edward Burne-Jones and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Like his friends, he spent a lifetime fighting the consensus of the Victorian England artistic sensibilities.

The Arts and Crafts Movement was born out reaction to the Victorian era of soulless machine-made production established during the Industrial Revolution. The movement was based on simple forms, truth to materials and a connection forged between artists and their work through handcraft.

WICA welcomes Whidbey’s Saratoga Orchestra for the third annual PNWCI 2019 Festival Concert.
The Pacific Northwest Conducting Institute is quickly becoming a highly regarded orchestral conducting institute based on Whidbey Island and hosted by Saratoga Orchestra of Whidbey Island. In the past two years, conductors from all parts of the world have participated in the six-day workshop to further hone their orchestral conducting techniques.
Adults $25 / Senior-Military $20 / Students under 18 complimentary admission (with ID at the box office)
